Holy Week Events

Palm Sunday Service

Join us on Sunday March 24 for our Palm Sunday service at 10am. This service is the first of Holy Week services where we celebrate the entry of Christ into Jerusalem.

John 12:12-13

1The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. 13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

“Hosanna![a]

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”[b]

“Blessed is the king of Israel!”

Maundy Thursday Service

Join us for Maundy Thursday Service on Thursday March 28 at 7pm.

Ever wonder why this is called Maundy Thursday? The word Maundy comes from the Latin, ‘mandatum’, or ‘command’ which refers to the instructions Jesus gave his disciples at the Last Supper.

John 13:34
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Good Friday/Tenebrae Service

Join this powerful service on Good Friday, March 29 at 7pm

“Tenebrae” is the Latin word meaning “darkness.” Good Friday is called “good” because Jesus’s death on the cross was the ultimate sacrifice for humanity’s sins. This sacrifice represents the ultimate act of love and redemption.

This service will bring you to reflect the sacrifice of Jesus, the sense of loss of God’s presence and the effect of the death of Jesus on the universe.

John 19:28-30

28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

John 20:11-16
11 Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”

“They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” 14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.

15 He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”

Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”

16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.”

She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).
